“Every summer I try to get our house back in order. I love to look into a cabinet and find everything is in its place! For three years in a row, Kathy has helped me, room by room. We’ve organized my bedroom closet, children’s toys, craft room, kitchen, home school supplies, office, garage, and laundry room. That’s a LOT of organizing! It’s an especially difficult task as we live in a small 1950’s home. I couldn’t have done these room makeovers without her. She has been instrumental in helping me think through what I should keep and where it should be stored. If items don’t have the right “home,” it’s impossible to keep them organized long-term. This is where her talent and patience have made the real difference. To be honest, some of these spaces have looked like a tornado went through. She’s never been judgmental and has always been gentle, yet challenging, as I have more than my share of “stuff.” Some of the organizing I could have done on my own, but the thought overwhelmed me and it was never on the top of my to-do-list. “Wow! I cannot brag enough on Kathy and all she accomplished in our home in just two short mornings. My home had become overrun with possessions. I have been the recipient and/or caretaker of items from family members who had passed away in the last year. That combined with my being gone most of the summer, my home was out of control. In the midst of the mess my daughter wanted to paint some rooms in our home. With the start of school, I was completely overwhelmed with stuff. Kathy looked at the overflowing front rooms and calmly communicated it was doable. After a brief discussion, I ran an errand and she worked like a busy bee. I came home to a clean room with organization established. Plus, she managed to use pieces I already owned to accomplish this. She organized my mess and we went through box after box. I also really appreciated her speed. She makes quick decisions, helped me make quick decisions, and just all around worked quickly. I can breathe again! “Even though we’d lived in our house for 10 years since it was built, my husband and I hadn’t really gotten his home office organized to a place of satisfaction. Kathy did an outstanding job of motivating us to sift through all the papers, etc that had been accumulating. Both of us lead busy lives and Kathy provided the time necessary to tackle what seemed like an overwhelming task to us. She thought “outside the box” when it came to room arrangement and suggested plans that we wouldn’t have come up with, as we had begun to see the room in only one dimension. I appreciate her “no nonsense” approach and her gentle persuasion to go through things now and set aside what to give away/donate. Also, Kathy provided excellent suggestions of how we could dispose of our many books and actually went to the website and checked on details for us. She frequently encouraged us to envision what the room could look like.
